The Mill tells

The Pro Loco Terre Bacchelliane, in collaboration with the Municipality of Riva del Po, Il Mondo di Riccardo Bacchelli, and the Atlantide Cooperative, is organizing the “Il Mulino racconta” (The Mill Tells a Story) initiative, scheduled for Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, at the Mulino sul Po floodplain.

The last guided tour of the Mill is scheduled for 5:00 PM.

The event offers a narrative journey dedicated to the relationship between community and river, the memory of work, and the stories that have shaped life along the Po. The program includes “Lazzaro racconta – Il fiume, la fatica, il destino,” an in-depth look at riverside professions by Liviano Palmonari, President of the Pro Loco Terre Bacchelliane, in collaboration with the Museum of Ancient Crafts in Guarda Ferrarese.

Afterwards, Romano Sgarzi will play the character of Lazzaro Scacerni in a staged narration inspired by the novel “Il Mulino del Po.” The evening will continue with “From the Vop River to the Po River,” a reading based on Riccardo Bacchelli’s play, with Guido Sproccati, Riccardo Zambonati, and Marcello Vanini from the Teatro Minore in Ferrara.
